We’re Advocating for You

7/1/2013

We're advocating for youOver the last eight months, the AANEM Advocacy team has worked to educate staff at CMS about the unintended consequences of the coding changes for reporting nerve conduction studies. Staff actively submits comments to draft payer policies, including recent feedback to a coalition of Medicare Administrative Contractors, who are attempting to develop a uniform local coverage policy for EDX services.

In the coming weeks, staff will introduce a new tool that members can use to connect with key legislators on issues important to EDX medicine. “Building positive relationships with decision makers is vital,” said Kathleen Micheletti, government affairs director. “We’re excited to be introducing new software that will track and guide the AANEM’s legislative agenda.”

AANEM members can play an active role in educating payers and legislators about quality EDX medicine by contributing to the Advocacy Fund.
